ATTENTION TOWNSHIP OF NEPTUNE RESIDENTS

If you are a property owner living in the Township of Neptune, you may be eligible for home repair assistance from the Township’s Affordable Housing Rehabilitation Program. This program is funded through the municipality as an obligation of the state’s Mount Laurel Program.

The Borough is looking for low to moderate-income-qualified households to fill a total of 20 slots which will allow for both resident owner-occupants to receive up to $25,000 in rehabilitation/repairs funds assistance through the program.   The purpose of the program is to bring substandard housing up to code. Substandard units are those units requiring repair or replacement of at least one major system. A major system is any one of the following: roof, plumbing (including wells), heating, electrical, sanitary plumbing(including septic systems), load-bearing structural systems, lead paint abatement, weatherization (building insulation for the attic, exterior walls and crawl space, siding to improve energy efficiency, replacement storm windows and storm doors and replacement windows and doors).

The Program is open and accepting preliminary coupon submissions starting on Friday, November 1, 2019, through Wednesday, November 27, 2019. Once the deadline date for submissions has transpired a lottery drawing will be conducted to fill the available slots for program assistance. The date, time, and location of the lottery drawing will be determined at a later date.

To qualify, you must be up-to-date with mortgage payments, water/sewer, and real estate taxes. Also, the annual gross income of the household assisted must not exceed the following income limits per household size:
