Financial Freedom Bootcamp

The Financial Freedom Bootcamp (FFB) aims to address the critical need for financial empowerment and literacy among low-to-moderate income households Monmouth County. The Financial Freedom Bootcamp will offer two tracks, a traditional route and a second track, that has a cultural focus on Black Americans. It is set to offer in-depth education, personalized counseling, and valuable resources.

Our goal is to increase the number of home buyers by providing insights and tools that enhance financial literacy and promote informed decision-making, ultimately fostering greater economic stability and homeownership opportunities!

Getting Your House in Order (GYHIO)

A culturally-specific educational workshop aimed to improve Black Americans’ financial well-being

Getting Your House in Order, a new model for culturally-specific financial education created by Black Americans for Black Americans. GYHIO has a very clear understanding of culture as it relates to African American financial practices, and this program covers topics like budgeting, debt and credit, and banking and investments all of which are set in a context of Black American history and cultural practice. Qualified participants learn about financial institutions, credit, and lending. Participants will practice personal financial management tools, and obtain their own financial reports to set specific goals. GYHIO fosters an endures a shift in beliefs, attitudes and behaviors toward money management and savings, and their own capacity to achieve greater wealth.

5-week Course – 1st Session starting October 9th!

Topics Include:
– The historical experience of African Americans with money and financial institutions
– How cultural, family and personal values and habits affect spending
– Building a strong credit record
– Moving from “paycheck to paycheck” to saving for your goals
– Budgeting for now – and the future
– Build a healthy relationship with money
