Affordable Housing Alliance Announces Executive Leadership Transition

NEPTUNE, NJ – The Affordable Housing Alliance Announces Executive Leadership Transition. On November 16, 2020, Randi Moore will join the Affordable Housing Alliance (AHA) as Chief Operating Officer, with the plan to ascend to the position of CEO on May 1, 2021, when the current CEO, Donna M. Blaze, retires. The announcement follows an intensive search process facilitated by Dennis C. Miller Associates.

Moore brings to AHA 15 years of experience in the field, including more than nine at the Hudson County Division of Housing and Community Development. She served as the Division Chief responsible for the overall planning, operation, and administration, including management of a $7 million budget before a recent promotion to her current role as Deputy Director of the Hudson County Department of Housing and Community Reintegration. Earlier in her career, Moore gained experience coordinating statewide initiatives to end homelessness at Monarch Housing and as a Director of Real Estate Development at the New Jersey Community Development Corporation in Paterson, New Jersey. Moore has a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Drew University, where she graduated cum laude. At AHA, Moore will build on the incredibly successful legacy of the retiring CEO while steering the organization forward with plans to grow.

Moore will succeed Blaze, who founded the Monmouth Housing Alliance in 1991 to address the paucity of affordable housing available to low-income residents in Monmouth County. In 2010, the organization changed names to Affordable Housing Alliance, expanding its services beyond Monmouth into Ocean County, and now provides services throughout the state. During her 29 years with the Alliance, Blaze has successfully secured and renovated more than 600 affordable housing units and secured over $100,000,000 in State and Federal funding for the purchase, construction, and renovation of projects. The Affordable Housing Alliance received one of the largest tri-state Sandy relief grants and became a major relief responder in the area.

Blaze indicated that she is excited to have such a talented and qualified professional take the reins of an organization she holds dear. “Randi has the same compassion and drive to help residents of New Jersey have the opportunities to live a safe and healthy life that I do,” she says. “It will be a relief to know the mission of AHA will continue to grow and have a positive impact throughout our communities.”

“The Board is truly grateful to Donna for her uncompromising dedication to AHA’s mission, her passion, and leadership over more than a quarter-century as CEO,” adds Jeffrey G. Price, President of the AHA Board of Directors. “We look forward to working with Randi Moore and welcome her as the new leader of AHA. And we thank Dennis C. Miller Associates for conducting a very professional and successful executive search.”
