Housing & Community Development Network of New Jersey’s “Under One Roof” Conference

On Friday October 23, 2026 at the Housing & Community Development Network of New Jersey’s Under One Roof conference, we were deeply honored to receive the Outstanding Project Award for Affordable Housing Alliance’s newest project at 1123 Third Avenue, Spring Lake, making 2026 the second year in a row that AHA has earned this recognition. AHA was also honored with a Lasting Achievement Recognition for passing our 35th organizational anniversary this year.

The recognition for our latest Spring Lake project belongs not just to AHA, but also to the town of Spring Lake, which funded the project through their borough’s municipal trust fund, transforming a historic bank building into a multi-use property that now houses a restaurant and three affordable homes for families in an amazing shore community. “It’s a really great example of the way affordable housing can fit seamlessly into a town where you might not think there’s going to be a ton of affordable housing,” AHA Chief Project Development Officer Chris Pugliese said of the project.  To our fellow honorees: your dedication to creating opportunity and stability inspires us every day.

At the conference, AHA’s CEO Randi Moore had the privilege of moderating the panel entitled “Navigating Housing Counseling Now: Understanding New HUD Eligibility Requirements.” She was joined by AHA Chief Programs Officer Toi Collins; Sharon Clark, Executive Director of Central Jersey Housing Resource Center; and Tom Kozma, Special Programs Analyst, Single-Family Division, NJ Housing and Mortgage Finance Agency. The workshop was designed to help Local Housing Counseling Agencies and HUD Certified Housing Counselors to better serve HUD-assisted renters.

We extend our sincere thanks to the Housing & Community Development Network of New Jersey for this recognition and for bringing together organizations and advocates dedicated to expanding housing opportunities across the state. We’re proud to be part of a community working to create more affordable homes, strengthen neighborhoods, and ensure that more New Jersey residents have a stable place to call home.
