From Dream to Doorstep: Celebrating Lindsay’s Home Dedication Day

AHA Staff (Kaite, Teresa & Kira) and new homeowner Lindsay M. and family at Monmouth County Habitat for Humanity home dedication ceremony.

Today is a day worth celebrating. This morning, in partnership with Monmouth County Habitat for Humanity, we had the joy of witnessing one of our own clients, Lindsay M., receive the keys to her new home at a formal dedication ceremony. It’s a milestone that represents months of preparation, dedication, and hard work, and we couldn’t be more proud to have played a role in her journey.

Where It All Began

When Lindsay first reached out to AHA, she came with a clear goal and a strong foundation: solid savings, a desire to plant roots in Monmouth County, and a genuine drive to give back to her community. What she needed was guidance, and that’s exactly what our Homebuyer Counseling & Education Program is designed to provide.

Our homebuyer counselor, Katie M., met with Lindsay one-on-one and walked her through every step of the process, from assessing mortgage readiness and understanding financing options, to budgeting for homeownership and planning for ongoing maintenance costs. Through AHA’s Homebuyer Education & Counseling Program, Lindsay gained the knowledge and confidence she needed to move forward.

Finding the Right Fit

Armed with the tools from her counseling sessions, Lindsay explored her options and ultimately decided to pursue a home through Monmouth County Habitat for Humanity, a duplex that felt like exactly the right fit. Her offer was accepted. And because she’d also be stepping into the role of landlord, Katie connected her with additional landlord education resources to help her feel fully prepared.

“It was very useful and taught me some things I didn’t know about budgeting and home buying.”

— Lindsay M., AHA Homebuyer Counseling Client

Congratulations, Lindsay. Today, your dream becomes your home. We are so proud of everything you’ve accomplished and so grateful to Monmouth County Habitat for Humanity for their incredible partnership in making moments like this possible.
