Millstone Township, NJ – Tuesday, a significant step forward to address the pressing need for affordable housing in Monmouth County occurred, with the groundbreaking ceremony for two new developments. The initiative is a collaborative effort between the Affordable Housing Alliance, a leading nonprofit developer in affordable housing, and the Township of Millstone, committed to fostering equitable living opportunities for all residents.

The groundbreaking ceremony, signifying the commencement of construction for both Allen House II and 6 Novad Court, was attended by key stakeholders, community members, and local officials, including the Mayor Al Ferro of Millstone, Senator Owen Henry, as well as representatives from US Senator Cory Booker and Congressman Andy Kim.

The Affordable Housing Alliance expressed enthusiasm about the endeavor’s impact on the community.  “Providing safe, decent, and truly affordable homes for those most in need is at the core of our mission,” said Randi Moore, CEO. “This groundbreaking ceremony marks a major milestone, but it’s just the beginning. With our deep expertise across all styles of affordable development and funding sources, we are a trusted partner that can deliver the right housing solutions tailored for every community in our state.”

Allen House II will feature 10 one bedroom apartments affordable to seniors of very low, low, and moderate income families. Conversely, 6 Novad Court, will have apartments for three very low income families or individuals experiencing homelessness.  AHA will manage each property, and its residential service coordinators will work directly with residents helping link them to any services they may need.

Mayor Al Ferro underscored the Township’s unwavering support for the projects. “This development aligns with our vision of a Township where everyone can thrive and prosper. I applaud AHA for their tireless efforts in advancing this critical cause, and I look forward to each project’s completion”, said Mayor Ferro.
