NeighborWorks Week 2022 Recap!

The Affordable Housing Alliance and Community Partners Celebrate NeighborWorks Week 2022

With the help and support of our neighbors, a local community was refreshed and revitalized just in time for the warm summer months.

Neptune, NJ, July 11, 2022The Affordable Housing Alliance (AHA) and a large contingent of community partners, business leaders, and local volunteers came together on Tuesday, June 7th, 2022 to celebrate NeighborWorks America’s annual NeighborWorks Week festivities. NeighborWorks Week is an annual week of service that showcases how, together with residents, the NeighborWorks network strengthens communities. As a Chartered Member of NeighborWorks America, the AHA’s tradition has been to focus on a local neighborhood and bring together partners and staff for a day of volunteering and community building. This year’s event saw dozens of individuals enjoy a beautiful June day and helped usher in Summer for all the residents of the community.

This year’s location was the AHA’s Pinetree Manufactured Home Community located in Eatontown NJ. There, our team spent hours refreshing flower beds, cutting back and removing troublesome shrubbery and easing access between residences. Volunteers from our local financial partners and home improvement suppliers remained engrossed with the Pinetree Community Center, not only providing multiple fresh coats of paint to the trim and exterior but also revitalizing the playground and refreshing the mulch adjacent to it. Over the course of seven hours, the staff from the Affordable Housing Alliance and all of the volunteers who contributed brought a sense of community and selflessness to the Pinetree Community.

While NeighborWorks Week celebrates the collective impact of the NeighborWorks America network, it’s also a time to acknowledge the volunteers, business partners, and national and local leaders who support our mission each and every day. The Affordable Housing Alliance is forever indebted to the following community partners and sponsors who helped make NeighborWorks Day 2022 such an unforgettable experience:

WAWA | ADL | Home Depot | Mazza Recycling | J & J Construction | Walmart | Lowes | Fanagle the Bagle | Charles Chips | Jersey Mike’s Subs | Wegmans | Pepsi Co. | Dunkin’ | Bam-Bam

About the Affordable Housing Alliance

The Affordable Housing Alliance (AHA) was founded in 1991 with the clear goal of addressing Monmouth County’s affordable housing shortage. Through the hard work and dedication of our talented team of difference-makers, the AHA has grown into a 501c(3) non-profit organization with an ‘exemplary’ rating from NeighborWorks America and a well-rooted footprint in New Jersey. While our organization continues to grow, the AHA’s commitment to supporting the Garden State’s housing and utility challenges remains unchanged.

The AHA has developed, financed, renovated, or constructed over 600 units of rental and homeownership housing and continues to own and manage over 500 units. Our unique portfolio represents the variety of housing options that are available for low and moderate-income households. In addition to our development and management experience, the AHA is a HUD-Certified housing counseling agency and provides a variety of social service and assistance programs to assist individuals to obtain and remain in permanently affordable housing.
