The Affordable Housing Alliance and Over a Dozen Community Partners Empowered Communities with a Homeownership Promotion and Preservation Day as part of NeighborWorks Week 2023.
The successful event brought together residents, community partners, and financial service providers to support our neighbor’s homeownership journey and foster lasting connections.
Eatontown, New Jersey – On Saturday, June 10th, more than 75 residents of Monmouth and Ocean Counties came out for the Affordable Housing Alliance’s (AHA) Homeownership Promotion and Preservation Day, part of their NeighborWorks Week initiatives. The event aimed to empower communities by providing valuable information and resources to families and individuals interested in all facets of homeownership.
The AHA successfully collaborated with over a dozen community partners and financial service providers who joined forces to provide a comprehensive range of information and presentations. These engaging sessions covered crucial topics, including the role of realtors and mortgage financing in the homeownership journey, as well as the available programs aimed at promoting homeowner preservation. By attending these presentations, participants were equipped with the essential knowledge to navigate the home-buying process. Toi Collins, Chief Programs Officer of the AHA, expressed her enthusiasm, stating, “Our Homeownership Promotion and Preservation Day was a tremendous success! We are extremely proud to provide resources and information that will help our community members achieve their housing dreams, and our community partners were able to make connections that will last well past the summer.”
During NeighborWorks Week 2023, which took place from June 3-10, the AHA and other NeighborWorks network organizations across the country celebrated the accomplishments of communities and highlighted how, in collaboration with NeighborWorks, they are empowering communities for success. In addition to the scheduled presentations, the AHA shared valuable information about utility assistance programs, housing rehabilitation services, and other resources aimed at assisting individuals in achieving financial and housing stability.
The Homeownership Promotion and Preservation Day provided a unique opportunity for attendees to connect with organizations that actively contribute to the community. The event served as a platform to showcase the diverse services and programs available to support residents on their homeownership journey. Professionals from various sectors, including banking, lending, real estate, and non-profit organizations, were present at the event. Through interactions with this diverse group of professionals, attendees had the chance to build relationships and gain valuable insights into the home-buying process. Additionally, guests were able to benefit from application assistance, and interested individuals could register for one-on-one sessions to make the most of additional resources.
