Keansburg, NJ – June 6, 2026 – Fifteen buckets of trash. One bounce house. A whole lot of ice cream. The Affordable Housing Alliance’s 2026 NeighborWorks Week event at Keansburg’s John J. Donahue Park had all of it, and nearly 40 volunteers to make it happen.

NeighborWorks Week is an annual nationwide celebration in which NeighborWorks America member organizations host community events that reflect their commitment to building strong, stable neighborhoods. This year, AHA brought that spirit to Keansburg’s John J. Donahue Park.

Volunteers spent the morning cleaning up the park and surrounding streets before sticking around to celebrate with lunch, ice cream, and some bounce house fun.

The Keansburg Garden Club was there too, raffling off a plant that had at least one attendee very excited to get home and find it a sunny spot.

The relationships AHA has built in Keansburg were at the heart of Saturday’s success. Through AHA’s NRTC program, the Neighborhood Revitalization team has spent months connecting with residents, local businesses, and town officials. Seeing those connections come to life in a park full of smiling kids made it all worthwhile.

Cliff Moore, Keansburg’s Economic Community Development Coordinator, was there throughout the day and spoke to what the event meant for the town. “When organizations like AHA invest in Keansburg, it lifts the whole community. Today was a great example of what that partnership looks like in action.”
