Groundbreaking at Fort Monmouth

On August 10th, COO of the Affordable Housing Alliance Derrick Griggs, Freeholder Director Thomas A. Arnone, Monmouth County Clerk Christine Giordano Hanlon, Freeholder Patrick Impreveduto, Sheriff Shaun Golden, Freeholder Deputy Director Lillian G. Burry, and other special guest celebrated the Groundbreaking at Fort Monmouth of Monmouth Counties new adult homeless shelter on property conveyed to the County by the Fort Monmouth Economic Revitalization Authority. Construction of the adult homeless shelter building at the existing Building 906 site on Murphy Drive on the former Fort Monmouth Main Post, in the Borough of Oceanport. The groundbreaking at Fort Monmouth replaces the former emergency homeless shelter that was lost during Superstorm Sandy many years ago. This future location will offer temporary housing, counseling, and other much-needed resources and services to individuals in Monmouth County until more permanent housing and services are identified.
