Kathleen Kerr

Director of Utilities 

Ms. Kerr, our Director of Utility Assistance, plays a pivotal role in overseeing our Utility Assistance Department. She joined AHA in 2018 and leads a team responsible for administering several crucial programs that assist households across Monmouth County and the state with paying their utility bills. Ms. Kerr ensures that the programs are effectively managed and operate efficiently. She establishes and develops relationships with affiliate agencies and utility companies and collaborates with them to streamline processes, and partner with them on outreach initiatives in the community. Additionally, she provides direct assistance to clients when needed, ensuring they receive the support they require.

Ms. Kerr brings a wealth of industry experience to her role. She spent 19 years at PSE&G, where she held various positions in Customer Operations. Her responsibilities included overseeing field operations in meter reading and collections, serving as a district manager in two different locations, managing the 24-hour call center, and ultimately serving as the Director of Customer Operations. Following her tenure at PSE&G, Ms. Kerr spent 10 years at NJ Natural Gas as Vice President – Customer Services. In that role, she successfully led operations in all Customer Contact Operations, Revenue Cycle Services, Customer Satisfaction, and Customer Outreach, notably during the challenges posed by Superstorm Sandy. Her contributions to the industry extended further as she chaired the NJ Utilities Association (NJUA) Customer Service Committee, a group comprising gas, electric, and water companies, for a decade.

Ms. Kerr holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Villanova University and has attended the Harvard Business School Program for Management Development. With her leadership, extensive experience, and dedication to customer service, Ms. Kerr has been an invaluable asset to our organization.
